SHOULD I CHOOSE SHEET VINYL, OR LUXURY VINYL TILES?

One of the questions we get asked the most about vinyl flooring is, "What's the difference between vinyl flooring and LVT?" Here are a few things to bear in mind:
  • Durability - Vinyl flooring in general is highly durable, but of the two, LVT is slightly thicker, and therefore slightly less likely to suffer from tears.
  • Cost - Luxury vinyl tiles are ever-so-slightly more expensive. But relatively speaking vinyl flooring as a product is a quality, cost-effective flooring solution.
  • Repairability - Because regular vinyl flooring is laid in one sheet, if it does suffer a tear, the whole sheet needs to be replaced. With LVT, any damage can be repaired by simply replacing only the damaged tiles.
  • Moisture resistance - Although vinyl is a great choice for bathrooms and kitchens, we'd recommend sheet vinyl in particular for these rooms. The fact that it is laid in one single sheet means that moisture sits on top of the sheet and doesn't have any gaps to get between, like it would with LVT.
